Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 8, 2026

Carnahan Mediations is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who navigate the web with screen readers, keyboards, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technologies. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across every page of this site.

What we have done

  • Skip-to-content link on every page so keyboard users can bypass the header.
  • Visible focus indicators on every link, button, and form control. Focus rings use the brand brick or coral color so they remain legible on white, cream, and navy surfaces.
  • Reduced-motion support. Animations, transitions, and smooth scrolling are disabled when the operating system reports prefers-reduced-motion: reduce.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels for primary calls-to-action and navigation links on mobile.
  • Semantic HTML — landmark regions, a single <h1> per page, and a heading hierarchy that does not skip levels.
  • Descriptive alt text on every meaningful image. Decorative banner photos paired with a headline use empty alt="" so they are not announced twice.
  • Iframe titles on the office-location map and on each mediator’s availability calendar.
  • Color contrast verified for the brand color pairings used in body copy, eyebrow labels, headlines, and calls-to-action.
  • Keyboard operability. Every interactive element on the four public pages is reachable and operable from the keyboard, in a logical reading order.

Known limitations

  • Embedded Google Calendar on each mediator’s page and the embedded Google Maps on the contact page are third-party widgets controlled by Google. We have given each iframe a descriptive title, but the contents of the embeds are subject to Google’s own accessibility implementation, which we do not control. If a calendar or map is unusable for you, please call or email us using the contact information below — we are happy to read availability or directions to you over the phone.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you find a barrier on this site, or want help reaching information you cannot access, please let us know.

We aim to respond within two business days. When you contact us, please include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using so we can reproduce and fix the issue.
